I see it all of the time in the legal world. Lexis-Nexis has been fighting constantly to paywall public access articles and to patent troll open source companies who use web spiders to harvest legal decisions from state and appellate courts.

Back in the day these companies had a reason to exist now they make about as much sense as a librarian who doesn't give blowjobs.
