That would put them somewhere between 25 and 50 years behind the science fiction writers that predicted it would just be a matter of time before it happened.  I'm not sure that it will, as our corporate masters may look at terrorism as a positive for controlling the masses.

yeast that can be engineered to shut off when they are producing too many toxic byproducts in a fermentation reactor

Ahhh, humankind - we can be relied on to make one of our first biological circuits a tool to make beer.

Next "Solution":  Age-specific bio weapons.

Spawned before '62?  Probably not in your best interest to share this with a Millennial.

This same BS was being published in the 70's and 80's as well.

Yeah, the Social Security fund is as imaginary as the war fund.  In the annual budget our gov'ment moves those dollars anywhere they want.  If the Millennials did find out the state of the system, they'd immediately want an increase in SS taxes to pay for all their lazy asses, and a lowering of the age limit to 50, if not 40.

While looking after our "stash" @ Vanguard, noticed they mentiond possibility of a 25% reduction in SS around 2030-35.  The last vestiges of "Boomers", will be scrambling for "entitlement crumbs".

Disability recipients are another gorilla in the room.  Numbers skyrocketed as the unemployment bennies ended.  Huge drain there.

The multitude of "hazards", humans will face in the coming years, will be lead to interesting times indeed.

All that is smoke and mirrors Jet rx to keep you on the staight and true.

This guy spouts Daily Maili protectionisms like an idiot, but he has a point that we have not gained any more in the years since than we would have under another ecomomic scheme

I am so sorry now that I fell for the great Thatcher-Reagan promise. I can’t deny that I did. I believed all that stuff about privatisation and free trade and the unrestrained market. I think I may even have been taken in by the prophecies of a great share-owning democracy.

And Peter Hitchens said it, so it must be true.

Granted, Vanguard may benefit from any Social Security "scare" persuading folks to sock more away.

Have been a fan of David Walker since I first heard him speak. I've found no credibility issues with this gentleman.
Unfortunately, competent and reasoned folks like this are virtually unelectable in our budding Idiocracy.
