Yet they use a VW Bug as an image, a car whose only transistors are in the radio.
I can't believe this doesn't have Floriduh plates.

Like I'd buy a car for it's 0-60. How does it corner? Does it make the right kind of noise? Can I drive it 250+ miles averaging 100+ MPH down rural highways and fill'er up in a few minutes to go another 250+ miles? Might get there, it'll get to where the cars all drive themselves too, but it aint there yet.

I've never been too concerned about 0-60, usually more so about 60-90 and braking distances at higher speeds. Because when I'm at highway speed, I really like to be able to get out of a clusterfuck of cars and trucks as quickly as I can before someone has a spell of the dumbass.

0-60 is easy fun, 60-90 is great fun but hitting the edge of losing your car to the cops. So, yeah that thrill of running it up to 85 as you jump on the freeway, I'll buy that. 250 miles per charge, zero noise, I'll buy that also for my daily driver.
Electric wins in every performance comparison as you have the ability to balance the car with battery & motor placement and infinite instant power on tap at all four wheels (good bye torque curve). Battery life is a rapidly evaporating differentiator.
I'll still keep my big block & my turbo toy for fun but times they are a changing...

Yeah, except that Chevrolet fixed that issue after the first few years and the later Corvairs handled like they were on rails. Nader's action against that car was nothing more than a publicity stunt... a great many other cars had exactly the same problem - the Triumph Spitfire had it in spades and yet was never called out. The Corvair was a fantastic car that got an undeserved drubbing. If you've ever driven one of the 180 hp supercharged Corsa's you'd know... they were superb... essentially, they were America's Porsche. I was sad to see the idea killed.

Just hit the Share link and then the Embed link and cut and paste. Don't use the HS media option.
