All this power comes at a cost, though -- iHOD set pricing for the Energypod at $899, and fuel pods cost $20 each. Collins declined to say exactly how long a pod would last; it certainly will vary depending on what's plugged in and how hard you're pushing it.
That's why you give a Watt-hours measure per pod. The fact that it's lacking that tells me that it's at least 10x the price to use gas and probably 5x the price to use regular batteries. Plus a bunch of plastic and chemical waste.
Check out my new power idea: Precharged "pods" of metal wrapped electrolytic gel, only $20 each and no water to add or gasses to vent.... I'll call them "batteries"...

Hell, I still think Musk's solar shingles have to be a scam but it's all progress in the right direction.

And solar shingles are exactly what we need. But just having everyone change to pure white shingles would probably save the same amount of money in the long run in the South and it costs *nothing* to do. But people don't *want* white shingles....

Many affluent subdivisions outside of Dalla$, Texa$ have HOAs that won't allow white shingles. Also, and no surprise here, the state will not give you a single penny to support using alternative energy sources, even the proven ones like solar panels. There are enterprising companies that will install systems complete and let you pay it back over 10 years but all the money you save with the panels goes straight to the installation company. I might consider 60/40 split to their advantage, but a 100/0 split doesn't inspire me to burn less oil considering how we're floating in it down here.
