Oh, a rough patch.

Not to go into too much detail, I lost the remaining parents in just over a 2 week span, the next week after the Land Lord gave us notice as they wanted to sell (with an incredible short notice) and with all of the ensuing frivolities of finding a new place, business etc.  Sorting out the train wreck of the parental units estate has been a real treat as well.

And to be truthful it seemed my postings weren't that moving for the locals.  What I find interesting isn't for others.  I have to say, I love what Smudge has done with the picture thread.  I stared coming back because of his/her work on it.  Well done Smudge!

I hope life is treating all of you well.  It has been kicking my butt on a regular basis.  It seems like so many friends warranties are up and they are checking out around left, right and center. Lost 2 in the last month.  It has been like that for over a year.  It probably won't get any better I posit.

On another note, I hope what ever state you are decriminalizes and doesn't legalize.  The smell of capitalism in the MJ world here is pretty rank, and down right sad impov. It takes the joy out of it.  Going into a Pot store is probably the most depressing single social action I have taken part of in the last year, and that includes memorials.

Starting a new business, publishing and printing.  In part of my life I am a fairly well known artist in a sub genre of surrealism, and I am hoping to do more of that.

Pax,
Dusty

Oh, and Ass Tax:

I have it on good authority you're neighbors.

Thanks for your kind words, Dusty. I enjoy prowling for interesting images.

I wondered if that was the "Stumptown" choad was referring to (Wiki tells me there are several locations that use the knickname Stumptown, but I definitely associate it with Portland). I've been in the Portland area since the early 90s, although now I'm a ways up into Washington State.

Sorry to hear that you've gone through a rough patch. Your experiences are not unlike my own. A lot of  the "reality" in life seems to be stacked up, inevitably, into the later years of one's existence. We really begin to understand what the Buddha was talking about when he discussed the impermanent nature of life. Everything moves on.

Perhaps at some point you would post a sample or two of your work?

Regards

Jealous, as usual.

I'm really sorry about all the death.  Also the forced move.  Moving sucks all by itself, never mind the other shit going on in your life.  It sounds very stressful.  Please try not to get stressed out.

Husband™ has done some investing in that industry.  It's looking good for capitalists.  I always knew in the back of my mind that this scenario would be inevitable in the event of legalization; still, it's a bit depressing.
Also, good luck on the new business, and I'm with Smudge--show us some of your shit.

Sorry about the season of loss, Dusty.  It's good to have you around.

Having been one who spent some time as the state's guest for MJ, in Washington no less, it seems like legalization/commercialization is the lesser of two evils.
