Warning -- I got pretty severe anxiety watching this, but I also happen to have some water phobias. Not everyone will be able to view this without discomfort.

LOL...I'm not too worried about the sub duty.

I can think of a whole host of reasons why I'd flunk the psych tests. They'd never let me near one.

I found this to be grimly fascinating. It's also kind of horrible. Don't watch if you are squeamish. I've known that a lot of dogs were bred for ratting, but I've never seen them go at it before.

It's not terribly squeamy.  Certainly a bad end for the rats (damn them fuckers is huge!), but at least it's quick.
In the days when more terriers were real working dogs, there used to be competitions.  They'd fill a pit with rats, drop a dog in, and the dog that killed the most rats in the shortest time was the winner.  I don't think I could stand to watch a thing like that.

The Tale of the Dale, a revolutionary economy car of the 1970s that was almost entirely made up from whole cloth.  An interesting portrait of the myth and the fabulist behind it.

I found this fascinating. I watched the whole thing, but you might not want to take the time. Viewing a couple of minutes provides you with the general idea.

At no point did any of the Homeland Security (Border Patrol, ICE, etc.) agents follow through with their intentions or threats to invade, detain, question or search the vehicles the author was driving. Their power, for citizens, was only in the threat, and presumption of authority. It's good to know your rights.

Yeah, not sorry I missed this, whenever it comes out and eventually goes away.

From everything I read, heard, or watched, it's like a better version of The Last Action Hero without the (intentional) comedy.

It doesn't help that they cast Roland as black even though he is described in detail as white and the book series made an entire situation regarding race - so is Odetta going to be Pacific Islander?  Or perhaps an Eskimo...

Fucking Hollywood, they want to put a political spin and overly played action graphics on everything.   Same shit with the Shining, Kubrick didn't like King so he made plot and character changes just to piss King off.

King says he's happy with the movie, but so was Frank Herbert about the David Lynch directed Dune.  Herbert tried to get Dune made for 20+ years at least.  No telling how long King has tried with The Dark Tower.  I guess he wants to make sure his great grandchildren get paid.  Ironically if McConaughey was playing Roland and Elba was The Man in Black, it would have been much better.  But black must always be the good guy and white the bad guy these days.  I hope the movie tanks, but it probably won't.

I'll catch it at some point because 1) God DAMN Idris Elba is fucking FINE and 2) I'm interested in watching McConaghey play the MIB.  If you have not seen him in Killer Joe you should make time to do that.  I believe his rom-com days are over for good.
