Forty five minutes ago, shopping at the local market, guy crashed his cart into mine and I just smiled. "Adorable, ain't she?"
Ever watched two grown men, giggling their asses off like school girls?
Oh, yes. The hazards of being male. The hunt never ends.

For a while I lived not far from The Village where the Prisoner was filmed in Wales. That was one fucking eerie place, particularly on Sunday afternoons when the tourists had all gone. Hard to explain why, but it was just the strangest place to wander around with nobody there. Still gives me the willies. The beach and village still look just like in the show, BTW.
Loved the show, though. Probably the most enigmatic show ever filmed for TV.My memories of it are pretty fuzzy. I was just a kid when it ran. Mostly I remember the mood it left me with.

I bought the DVDs. The show was created while Patrick McGoohan and George Markstein were working on Danger Man (Secret Agent here in the USA). In order to sell it to CBS 36 episodes were requested. Sir Lew Grade (remember him from the Muppet Show?) asked McGoohan for 26 episodes but they only ended up with 17 and the finale was, again supposedly, hastily written. Did he really get away at the end? Was he ever really a Prisoner of anything other than his own circumstances? The show was so convoluted that not much beyond enjoying each episode seems to really matter. I think McGoohan was even away for part of the shooting to do Ice Station Zebra.
Even the episode viewing order is hotly debated by Prisoner fans. There are many sites that list them including this one which has the original BBC and CBS viewing orders and the seven essential episodes that McGoohan said really made up the entire story, all the others were just filler episodes so CBS would buy them.
