I had heard of only two of the six "dishes" listed--lutefisk, from Cruel, and escamoles, probably from some damn Travel Channel show.

So it's from Cracked.  So what?  It's still gonna make me skip dinner.

(P.S.  How do you embed a link in text?  Somebody help me out?)

I've eaten Lutefisk. Cod Jello. One of the many reasons why the two years I spent in Minneapolis were the worst years of my life.

Herring with whipped cream is a nasty New Year’s tradition I’ve run into.

My aunt and uncle, both full-blood Italians, liked to pick up a skinned sheep's head that was sawed in half.  Uncle Jack would BBQ the halves with a few spices and serve them up with the skull providing a handy serving plate.  Each half had one eye, 1/2 tongue, and 1/2 of the brain.  I never went close.  They also ate raw, live sea urchins sliced in half.  The little buggers would try to walk off the plate on their remaining spines.  Lovely.

I don't know how to embed links, but there is a handy tool/edit bar provided if you hit Post Reply  rather than using the Quick Post box.  Maybe you can figure it out.

The Escamole and Dead Mouse Wine are new ones to me.  I'm trying to figure out which one is the nastiest... there's something about the duck fetus.

George I had to look this up too, I keep fucking up and using html tags.

Minneapolis sucks donkey balls.  I spent five years there, and actually went back last week to visit some friends.  It still sucks.

I'm going to go with Balut as most disgusting:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut

Balut are most often eaten with a pinch of salt, though some balut-eaters prefer chili and vinegar to complement their egg. The eggs are savored for their balance of textures and flavors; the broth surrounding the embryo is sipped from the egg before the shell is peeled and the yolk and young chick inside can be eaten. All of the contents of the egg are consumed. In the Philippines, Balut have recently entered higher cuisine by being served as appetizers in restaurants: cooked adobo style, fried in omelettes or even used as filling in baked pastries.

The Vietnamese prefer their balut matured from 19 days up to 21 days, when the chick is old enough to be recognizable as a baby duck and has bones that will be firm but tender when cooked. In Cambodia, most people prefer to eat it while it is still warm in its shell. Served with nothing more than a little garnish, it is widely popular. Usually, it is accompanied by a mixture of lime juice and ground pepper.

Hot Sauce, Soy Sauce, Fish Sauce, and two bottles of clear liquid.

All we're missing is your tits!

Point made though, horseshoe crabs are simply spiders in armor.

Cuitlacoche gives me nightmares.  It's basically infected corn.

A leg and pieces of an arm were in a refrigerator and there were bones inside a cereal box.

I wonder what sort of toy surprise came inside?
