Trigger Warning
“The NPC meme essentially meant to ridicule the post-election perpetual outrage culture in which [PROGRESSIVES] simply parrot the latest talking points from their favorite pundits, who do their thinking for them.

The 4chan version is a simple greyed out, expressionless face known as "NPC Wojak" - which has triggered the left so hard that Twitter conducted a mass-banning campaign for accounts promoting the meme, and the New York Times wrote an entire article trying to figure it out.”

Back in the day NPC= NEP/JAFO.

If you wanted to "trigger" me, you'd first have to figure out how to post an image that's larger than a postage stamp so I could actually see it clearly.

NPC = Non-Player Character in my orbit.

Thought all those yuuuuge, wonderful, titillating and thought-provoking  pics required "special access".  Given, there's seldom an occasion posts are tendered in a sober state, figuring it out would be all the more challenging.

Thanks for the correction...again.

Good to see, despite those Bolshevist proclivities, you've not descended into "censor" mode...as have many of your "like-minded" contemporaries on other platforms  ;)

Well, those memes are really troubling at all. I don't think you're going to get a rise out of anyone.

In order for a taunt to get in and rattle someone there has to be an element of truth in it. Calling democrats an angry mob,for example, is just silly buggers. Are you really suggesting that Dem have cartoon faces? Obey? This stuff is moronic.

More and more, the far right is just drinking its own Kool- Aid and circle jerking to its own twisted fantasies.

Can't you guys argue something important?  Perhaps like the change to the Apple Bagel emoji?.

For fucks sake who cares about 4chan now or ever?  These are guys that key random cars in the parking lot and think it's cool...

All arguments are ridiculous, nobody ever changes their minds.

Who said my goal was to change minds? I'm suggesting to JetRx that his trolling posts are so weak and poorly thought out that the only person who will be diminished is the person posting them. It doesn't matter if he agrees with me because he's not really my audience. I'm reframing the discussion and pointing out that not only does he fail to draw blood, he ends up putting the focus on the limits of his ability to be persuasive.

Also, cynicism for its own sake is not only boring, it's often destructive;

It's not. But in this case Emmeran's comment was specifically pointed at JetRx and me, and your comment appeared to be an addendum to his.

It wasn't.  I have no intention to get drawn into the Smudge/JetRx circle jerk.  You two have at it.

Cynicism and Irony are all some of us have left, here, at the fall of the American Republic.  And for the record, David Foster Wallace was an asshole and a terrible human being and I'm glad he killed himself, just sorry he didn't do it sooner.

I don't have an opinion one way or another about Wallace, but I agree with the ideas he expressed in that clip.
