Laying to rest a much-loved family pet usually requires little more than a shovel, a plot in the back garden and some well-chosen words. But what happens when the “pet” in question is a robot?

If they got a chance to be snooty you just didn't use a big enough jet engine.

Robotic weeding, obviously the next step is to move away from chemicals completely and use some form of directed energy.

Carnival Cruise lines has used electronic poker tables on the their cruise ships for years. No dealer mistakes, no chips needed, and no tipping either. I expect these to replace many of the low-end cardrooms in casinos all over America soon.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a cease and desist letter to Dolder, Falco and Reese Partners, LLC, the company that makes an idiotic and dangerous product called the Autopilot Buddy, a $199 lump of plastic and magnets that fools a Tesla’s Autopilot system into thinking you’re paying attention.

Not to get off topic but the Surface Table, the Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop are still the best products on the market and let's not forget their keyboards and mice either.
This thing is a far cry from silliness of Google Glasses or the Apple swatch.

F-Apple period. I give my granddaughter shit all the time about what a sheep she is. I like Azio keyboards and Logitech mice. M$ peripherals are fine, they're the Chevrolet Impalas of the electronics world, they'll run and run while they slowly fall apart. I've never had any experience with the Surface products. They're manufactured by Pegatron, a Chinese company I know nothing about.

I hate this headline. If you don't catch the dash in in foot-long, it makes it sound like the robot sought him out and stabbed him with 10' long spikes.

Yeah, also it fell on him. It would be like saying "Building malfunctions and crushes worker".

Just carrying on a long tradition that goes back to around the turn of the 20th century when they had the marvelous machines that could do all kinds of things. As long as there was a dwarf inside to do them.

Earlier. The Turk, now a generic term, is probably the world's best known confidence game, followed closely by The Spanish Prisoner.

The Porn industry has always been early adopters of the latest and greatest technology.
I've read Sci-Fi stories that covered this subject where people retire by getting plugged into the Matrix and you can live the rest of your life with any fantasies you want. It usually ends tragically.
