Not one single mass media news outlet covering this story shared the fake profile Smith allegedly created or the hoax threat he issued. Action News Jax was the only outlet which appears to have shared Smith's mugshot.

I'm sure that's true of almost every article on that site.  Beware of organizations who say that they have the "only real truth".

That guys is one pubic beard away from Jussie Smollett.

Remember, it's not hate speech if the speaker is a minority, unless they are poor, in which case they need to be in the majority.

Umm, the history is quite messy for the Indians and other Asians in 20th century colonized and post colonial Africa. I am helping advance read a good friend's historical book which has a story occurring through the interwar  period and into decolonization of central Africa. The Asiatics were encouraged to operate substantial economies in Africa for the British and other European powers. They had a distinctive hand in extracting the wealth and being part of the colonial structure. Culpability exists and at the same time they lacked the power structures the white rulers had to frame their stance. So in many cases they seem to have became the demons that could be acted upon.

They were excoriated by nationalists when decolonization became a reality. Mostly rounded up and deported, but sometimes killed in civil strife. They where easy targets as merchants not black and not white so widely vilified and left unprotected.  And when African economies failed in the strife thereafter  certain Indian families where asked back only to see another round of economic blowouts. I have a good links from surviving generations. The best of which are from the Indian industrialist families holding themselves to account for the historical role they played and also describing what they tried to do to bridge the gap and bring back functioning business when they were invited to return after decolonization. Sadly most efforts failed. Though some morphed into smaller ongoing businesses.

Oh,  I'd say that "morphing" hasn't necessarily been "small" business and wager the Brahmin Guptas know exactly who South African versions of Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and the Shudras are.

Why are people surprised that the Guptas are buying and selling the government? It's been the modus operandi in India since 1947. There are just so much more opportunities in South Africa (and Africa in general) where the politicians are cheaper, the resources are cheaper, the ANC just wants to get paid and no country is politically strong enough to require deportation of criminals from whatever bolt hole they skipped off to. And if you are looking for an Indian to invest even a penny in human rights in Africa, much less in India, you have little understanding of the people.

But for every $Billion stolen by the Guptas, the Chinese have stolen a $Trillion worth of resources in central and southern African countries. They are going to own the rights to the natural resources of wood, rare earths and humanity that they can use to provide the goods and cheap labor that their growing middle class demands while exporting all of the ecological damage to Africa in the name of Third World development. It's shitty, but they DID learn the practice from us.
