She knows she can't release the list and only redact Donny's name - because everyone would know whose name is redacted.

She knows she can't even release the list with all the Republican/conservative names redacted - because only hardest-core MAGAts (y'know, the QAnon/Pizzagate fuckheads) would believe that ONLY Democrats appeared on the list.

And she OBVIOUSLY can't release it without redacting Donny's name - that would absolutely get her fired and probably land her in Alligator Auschwitz.

The Freedom of the Press Foundation submitted its Foia request on 15 May. But the press release says the justice department estimated it would take more than 600 days to fulfill despite granting expedited processing.

It's a glorified meme stock, and a legalized scam.

I think tying Trump Media Stock price to his approval rating misses the point about his spectacular business success already baked in and coming out of the oven. It doesn't really matter at this juncture what his perceived domestic approval is, nor ability to carry the electorate, or effectiveness his domestic policies turns out to have.  He can even afford to hinder the economy for awhile, which will crash out the lower/middle classes. So what? Does a recession risk really hinder the returns he will realize given how the investment is structured?  Trump is awful and seems dumb, but this end run into the money looks anything but haphazard and poorly conceived.

I suspect even the stockholders of Trump Media don't really matter that much to his bottom line. It may not be about the public company, but the way payouts and buyouts are constructed from private investments originating with Middle East sovereign wealth and their associated oligarchs. It is there that Trump has already succeeded in a carefully coordinated plan between Trump, his cabinet ministers, foreign policy advisors, and their children placed in Trump's firms to gather in Middle East investments.

The amount of money being shuttled into Trump's influence is beyond anything anyone in politics has ever seen before. Unexamined billions paid directly into Trump companies and untold billions more to those in Trump's immediate sphere of influence. These foreign investments are not being clearly explained or questioned in depth by the media. Nor widely used against Trump politically by his opponents. The level of nepotism between Trump's new finance companies and his administration officials is remarkable. The ties his key White House officials or cabinet members have with buyout payments or previous direct employment by the Arab countries' is compromised in a way exceeding what we have seen before.

It seems Trump has already succeeded in securing investments beyond what anyone in the media previously postulated could come his way. If he reshapes the US Treasury holdings and currency policy to allow for his crypto schemes to get their cut, even better for him and his circle of oligarchs. But even without that, I suspect Trump really isn't dependent on what happens to his shareholders in Trump Media for his payout.

Wow, I just went through many of the articles out there on the story and it looks like May is a thread that, now it's been pulled, might unravel SC GOP politics in general.  Hightlights are:

1.  All articles say "children" which leads one to assume they don't want to, or can't say, "boys".  Remember that if it's the GOP, it's boys, but if it's the Dems, it's girls.

2.  He resigned about one year after they lied and stonewalled as much as possible.

May is looking to postpone his federal trial that was scheduled to begin as early as September.  The motion, made by Assistant Federal Public Defender Jenny Smith, said that May’s counsel needs more time to “review the voluminous discovery, conduct a thorough investigation and review the discovery with the defendants.” 

5. Smith also noted in the motion that the delay would allow both parties more time to try to negotiate a resolution to the case. (10 years sounds about right to me, but I'm sure that's not what Smith/May are hoping for.)

The wall along the southern border will be painted black in an effort to make the structure too hot to climb, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Tuesday, saying the suggestion came from President Donald Trump.

“It’s tall, which makes it very, very difficult to climb, almost impossible. It also goes deep into the ground, which would make it very difficult, if not impossible, to dig under. And today we are also going to be painting it black,” Noem said during a news conference Tuesday in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, as she stood before the slatted steel structure.

“That is specifically at the request of the president, who understands that in the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black, it gets even warmer, and it will make it even harder for people to climb,” she said.

The black paint will also prevent rust on the steel, said US Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks.

The move to paint the wall comes as the Trump administration claims there were just over 6,000 apprehensions at the southern border in June, 15% lower than a previous record in March.

The southern border wall was a centerpiece of Trump’s hardline immigration stance during his first term. Now in his second term, Trump’s focus has largely shifted to deportations and heightened enforcement within the US.

Noem didn’t say how much it would cost to paint the wall, but the administration secured about $46.5 billion in funding through the Trump-backed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” to modernize the border barrier system, including completing construction on 700 miles of primary wall.

The government is building approximately half a mile of barrier each day, Noem said Tuesday.

“The border wall will look very different based on the topography and the geography of where it is built,” she explained.

Noem also noted the department’s deployment of “water-borne infrastructure” and advanced technology, such as cameras and sensors.

During Trump’s first term, his administration considered painting more than 80 miles of US-Mexico border wall black.

US Customs and Border Protection, which oversees border wall construction, said in 2020 that it was testing the black coating along some sections of the wall. The administration had previously suggested that it would assess the operational benefits of the black paint.

Current and former agency officials also argued in 2020 that the painted finish would have little effectiveness, saying it was largely being done to placate the president.
