As they state in the documentary, Sylvester brought a lot of performance acumen to the group.
On a different note... I never knew Hibiscus was the guy putting the flower in the gun barrel...
(This is prolly pissing Dahl off to the nth degree)

Goldie Glitters was a friend. S/He was most upset in the mid-70's with the lumberjack look....

I used to see him around the Castro when I still lived there. My impression from the movie is that Goldie was a pain in the ass...
hmmm, like-minds? (No, I wasn't referring to you, but rather, myself...)

Looks like they're still "hungry". Always good for integrity in the music. Sounds good to me...

I still need to listen to it more. I thought Title TK hit a certain nail right on the head, so I need to get rid of my preconceptions.

Maybe not a hat - I couldn't lure it out of the back room, if it's in there.

Okay, ho-hum BORRRING. yeah GIGI Ellen WAS a fucking pussy, not to mention, along with him, his music sucked ass...please, I for one, am glad he's dead. And NO, he didn't do it on stage...
with that said, here's some footage from a really sweet band from Vancouver BC. CUB, who started the trend "Cuddle-Core" They also kicked ass live. I, for one, dearly miss them...remember, Satan Sucks...

Just found some stuff from waaaay-back when... Jackson Saints, a local SF band in the late '80's, I worked with the bass player Janis Tanaka (later of L-7, Seven Year Bitch, Pink, Hammers of Misfortune, etc...) She once asked me to sing for the Jackson Saints...god I miss that lady. She called her bass the "Tanakabacker"
Here's Janis singing with Stone Fox, another great SF band...

I saw them live once and maybe they were having an off day, but I came out of it unimpressed. They were opening for They Might Be Giants, and it was a pretty mediocre show. The crowd didn't seem really into it and they just seemed to play their set and leave. Well, except for the drummer, who was acting like she was excited about everything all the time. The one song that people probably would have been interested to hear, New York City, they didn't even play.
For reference, here's TMBG playing it. I couldn't find any videos of Cub playing live. They might just suffer from the fact that they picked a really short word that is a part of a buch of other band names and song titles as the name of their band.

Guess ya had to be there. When they were releasing stuff, it was a breath of fresh air from all the grunge and Riot Grrrl stuff. I believe Joey Shithead of DOA was the guy that actually came up with "CuddleCore" and he loved them...Lisa Marr married one of the guys in the Muffs and formed Buck, and Robin lives here in SF, works at Aquarius Records and is in Spoonbender oh, wait, I meant I Am Spoonbender. Don't know what happened to the other Lisa..the drummer. I recall Lisa Marr told me she moved back to BC.

18-year-old Scots guitar prodigy, 1983
Never mind the bad sound-sync and fakey guitar-playing on the video--the album (their first) is arguably their best effort, and still stands up well.

Jesus, you really can find anything on Youtube. I used to go watch these guys play at a community playhouse in Morgan Hill where all of the underage kids would hang out and pretend they were doing something cool.
