I know this will sound weird and hypocritical, but I’m live and let live when it comes to the private lives of Democrats and want to see Republicans exposed and removed from office when they engage in anything other than marital missionary position sex for the purpose of reproduction. These bastards want to invade other people’s bedrooms; they deserve to be watched and laughed at when they go to bed.

Wednesday. It was the one with McCain (I normally Tivo them and watch them on the day they air, but last night all of my late nights working caught up with me and I accidentally got about 13 hours' worth of sleep).

A journalism think tank studying "The Daily Show" doesn't believe many people get their news from Jon Stewart - because otherwise they wouldn't get the jokes.
The Project for Excellence in Journalism also said it was surprised at how much the Comedy Central late-night program resembles "The O'Reilly Factor," "Hardball" and other cable news shows in content.
The Washington-based organization asked its researchers to study a year's worth of "The Daily Show" tapes - hardly a grim assignment - after hearing the frequent claim that many young people learn about the world from Stewart instead of more traditional news sources... (read more)
Stewart may be similarly egocentric (or just play a version of himself who is, a la Colbert), but he's not as much of an asshole and liar as O'Reilly.

That doesn't really surprise me--they're all clowns, all dipping from the same well for material and mugging on the screen for the same purpose: entertainment.
The reason I respect Stewart more than the rest of the clowns is that he is not hypocritical about what his show is or what his job is.
