Thanks

Just so's you are aware, Dreamhost was picked because it's cheap as hell for what you get (but not always the most reliable host in the world, but has done pretty well over the last few months.)

You may want to look into Drupal or similar frameworks for that sort of thing.

The money issue I can overcome, I've just got to retrench back to my techie self from my current executive self. My employees haven't let me do anything this technical in years.

Not really, just the catchphrases. Plan your scope well, don't fall victim to function creep. Estimate the amount of time it should take you to do it, then double that and tell that time to anyone looking for a launch date.

You can easily spend hours comparing various options over at CMS Matrix. Try out the search function - it lets you winnow down the list by characteristics.
If you really like PunBB (though there seems to be a potential bit of turmoil surrounding it at the moment) or if you really like a CMS that doesn't include a forum, I believe PunBB can be integrated with some CMSes like Wordpress.

FluxBB would definitely be the way to go if I were upgrading a PunBB installation.

OK - starting to look like my best route is to frequent the local colleges for a RB/FB/LB/Safety who can tranistion to Rugger and fund him to build a site for me. Obviously my days as a IT hobbiest have come to an end.
Anyone out there with any atheletic ability??

Yeah, there are hundreds of possibilities. You can narrow it down by sticking to the big names. In addition to Drupal as O+ mentioned, other ones I hear of frequently are Joomla, Plone, and DotNetNuke (there are more, but they're more designed as wiki or blog platforms than what you want).

What about the kid on the crutches? Or do you make him play, too?
