Whoever these feet belonged to, and however they died, their deaths serve a noble, if ultimately futile, purpose. There remain, in this province, great lengths of shore and massive tracts of land far from any road. If it takes a few feet to slow the division of the hinterland into recreational real estate communities, then I'll get my hack saw and a half-pair of shiny new running shoes, and leave an anonymous donation on the shores of English Bay.
