Actually, I like that one. I don't mind mantises because, unlike roaches, they keep themselves very clean. Also, no mantis has ever tried to bite me.
I'm not phobic about arthropods in general...I don't like roaches and other such bugs because they're filthy, their presence indicates that the immediate environment is not clean, and they remind me of a youthful period of desperate poverty.
I used to have a fairly serious phobia about spiders, but then I went to live in Australia for a couple years, and down there it was either get over my girly-screamies and deal with the fucking things, or kill myself.
The huntsman spider, especially, loves human dwellings because they offer it ideal hiding places.
I still don't like spiders; but where I used to panic at the sight of one, a spider that isn't bigger than a small puppy just ain't a big deal any more.

Anywhore... I was mostly being accommodating. I suppose there are some people for whom some banners provoke a more visceral response than intended. Georgie felt put off enough to actually post about it, so I saw no real reason to keep all three. This does, of course, suggest that some fiend out there is cooking up a banner just to get your goat. Never know who it might be...
