I'm not sure anything will ever top Geraldo's self-exposure, though, the time he was embedded in Iraq and, on camera, drew a rough map of where the unit was, then described where they were going and what they planned to do--one of his assistants was trying his best to shut him up, and he just shushed the poor guy.  If SNL had written that as a comedy sketch, people would have sneered at it for being too preposterous.

How that waterhead kept his job after that, even with Fox News, is a mystery.

I would be very surprised if Choad didn't have a good cockroach story. Didn't he and his blueblood ex own a harborside home in choad's little slice of new england. Divorce not withstanding he summers there still.

He also bought up one of my favorite places in Manhatten. Well technically Fort Lee NJ but it is in a section of old riverfront compounds and boathouses just south of the GWB. Before he moved in an old squeeze's friend had a condo across the street. I always thought that what was then old and delapidated were some of the neatest properties along the river.

His greatest feat must be in contract negotiations. Last year Michelle Malkin was the rising star at Fox, a darling of Bill O'Reily. She was on every night and guest hosting the Orly Factor once a week when she got into a tiff with Geraldo over the immigration bill. He declared in print that she made him want to spit on her and she stormed in and from what I can glean demanded "him or me". She was promptly shown the door and it was a full season before she was invited to start appearing again at 7 AM.

Now they have given the 5pm hour they were grooming her for to Laura Ingram.

I never really payed much attention to the Penacoli rumours because the exact same CBS local news rumor mill had first produced the gerbil story about their weatherman a few months before. I forgett his name now, maybe Pat O'Brien? Unfortunatelly he did not cooperate and killed himself in a skydiving blowout. So they had to transfer the rumor to another TV personality universelley despised by all he came in contact with.

I started skydiving a week or so after he planted himself into the sod a few feet in front of the clubhouse. I was truly shocked by the way the jumpmasters regarded the agonizing death witnessed by all the regulars and students. It changed forever the way I viewed personel responsibility. In no spare words did they coldly call him a schmuck for the bonehead move he pulled by panicking when his main  chute fouled in a partial opening. He was descending quickly but would have survived and the jumpmaster had dived after him and was yelling from above to ride it out once he was close too the ground. Instead he choose to cut away and try and pull his emergency chute without checking to see how close he was to the ground. It never got out of its bag.  All the club regulars thought he was a vain asshole too full of himself to realize he just did not know what he was doing.
