I haven't been around these Heyah Parts for awhile...

But I have to say I'm saddened to see WCL's wit and humor has turned into a vitriolic bashing and generalizing of all Americans.

Et tu, Brute?

What's particularly amusing is that, given many Canadians' penchant for America-bashing (and we're probably not an easy neighbor), he'll deny his anti-American postings are anything at all like all those of other Canadians because he's not like other Canadians.

Oh now, let's not get all autopsical. Every once in a while I drink a 40-lb.-er of scotch and scream obscenities across the border. And yes, I'm a little out of sorts - I just spent a week in the mountains, which puts all the fucking celebrity-chasing around here in a very bad light. In fact, it puts everything about snivelization in a very bad light. If I disappear completely you'll know where I am. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a magnificent hangover to groom for the day's festivities.

I thought so.  The longer you are out, the freakier it is when you come back.

Very fucking true. And the re-assimilation takes longer the older I get. Possibly because the desire to be part of the hive grows weaker the older I get. There is relief from all this...but it requires disassembly...a great deal of disassembly.... In the meantime, forgive me the occasional squall. Or don't. I'm not at the stage of caring yet. I miss the peaks and the whiskey jacks and the taste of glacier-fed streams. Anything else seems lacking in real significance.

Pico?

Sorry Scotty - I'm probably not fast enough for riddles today.
If you meant Pico della Mirandola, then I would answer no...more Petrarch, really, at least in terms of altitude.
If you meant Pico Mountain, I would grimace and say no...several Coastals....
If you meant Pico in the Azores I would be mystified, but I do have a friend who was born there.
If you meant Pico the Unix text editor I would be even more mystified, and perhaps segue into a discussion about the lack of a decent Framemaker substitute in Linux.
If you meant Pico the Clown, I would question your sanity.
If you meant Pico-Salax I would laugh amusedly, take some, and send you the result in the mail.
All in all, however, I'm hoping against hope that you mean pika. God I love the sound of pika...bless their furry little heads.

This is what I refer to as "re-entry" after a long weekend camping/hiking in solitude.

Re-entry is indeed, a bitch.  Sometimes I feel I have to bend over, just to acommodate the re-entry...

I love the mountains.

I was deep in the little old mountains (Smokies) two weeks ago and didn't want to come back. Nothing like out west, though.

Soon... very soon...

I think he meant Pico de Gallo.  I quite enjoy this tasty treat myself.

Sounds more like "rear-entry" withdrawal after a long weekend of brokeback camping.
