I love the comments at GooTube; so many PC assholes have no sense of humor.

Alas, it's true. One of my favorite T-shirts - next to the shirt I bought from Tojo that reads "Leftwing Pinko Commie Fag" - is the shirt I own bearing the symbol and atomic weight as listed for uranium on the Periodic Table. People have actually stopped me and asked why I was wearing the shirt and told me they found it offensive. This has happened three times.

I get a similar sort of question about a necklace I own with the symbol for Aries on a small coin-shaped piece of metal. "Is that a rune?" (pronounce 'rooon') "Yes," I reply. "It means I'm about to roo-in [ruin] your day." Taint, maybe you should start wearing shirts for Thulium.

I think I met one of these girls a few weeks ago. She was a waitress in Vegas and mentioned that she was a dancer. She said she was currently cast as a KKK member in the Jerry Springer musical. I thought she was bullshitting me.

Well, it makes sense that people might be curious about a symbol you're wearing around your neck, but why would people be offended by seeing U238?

I only meant the atomic number of the lanthanoid.

This periodic table is way awesomer. But I can't believe that coffee is all the way down at #15.

oops. sorry, was having flashbacks to a phil foglio novel Illegal Aliens.
Thulium was extremely rare, and completely useless for anything, but it couldn't be forged, so it was used as currency...
