He does these amorphous, highly polished shapes that suggest organic origin, but whose seamless surfaces simultaneously deny the presence of the human hand. Then, when you approach it to try to get a handle on the shape of the object, you start to realize that you're actually instead looking at the reflection of the world around the object--your space--transformed by the object. Next, you start reevaluating the space around you, much of it previously unnoticed and transparent, noticing the clouds, buildings, and horizon as if they were new to you somehow. Eventually you've had enough, you turn away from the piece, and for the rest of the day you're a little more inclined to not take the environment around you for granted.

Good shit. I'll take that over some hack equestrian statue that nobody cares about any day.

Come on Ah Hoo, fess up, you thought it was a big silver jelly bean until you read the above critique.

It's astonishing how afraid otherwise logical people here are of somebody like Obama, just because he's black.  And I hate to tell those idiots... but Obama is whiter than most white people I know.

But at least they're not angry anymore.  They're just terrified of the "Darkie's getting rule over their old massas!"

Oh no... their racist anger is directed at illegals now.  Those people just don't deserve to live!  (Drives me batty.  They are human beings, unless I somehow missed the huge biological discvoery that found a new subspecies of homosapien.... the homo-thay took arr jobs!-ien.)

Most of the goddamn things are too shoddily made for words.  I was bitching recently on some other thread about my theory that the manufacturers are banking on the fact that customers will be too embarrassed to complain or ask for refunds/exchanges.  The BBB needs to get after these assholes!  And where are Underwriters Labs?  You never see a "UL" label on a vibrator...Consumer Reports should do an article evaluating sex toys.

feisty, I probably don't have to direct you to Adam & Eve, located in our very own beloved state.  They have above-average merch at below-average prices.  (But they'll send you junk mail until the Last Trump if you ever place an order.)  (But the junk mail is very discreet in appearance.)

George, I agree.  My first vibrator ever was a big deal for me... I was nervous and embarassed and all of the above.  I was 18, so still a virgin at that time... now I don't give a fuck.  Anyway, broke when I took it out of the package.  I was devisated.  30 bucks down the drain, cause as you say, there was NO way I was going to return that thing!

No, I kid.  Carrollton's a nice spot.  We lived right by, in Coppell, before we came down here.

I do not miss the sound of planes overhead every minute of every fucking day.  Also, it's nice to be able to see the night sky again.

Well, I can't argue against only barely being able to see secondary stars, but we don't hear any airplanes inside the house, although you can see them going into both DFW and Love Field.

Not necessarily true. I purchased one as a gift for someone I dated who lived far away (yes, that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

As it was a gift, I loaded up the batteries and turned it on to make sure it works (nothing worse than giving someone a broken gift). Needless to say, no vibe. I immediately returned to the place of purchase and received an exchange, which the ladies running the place kindly tested for me before I left (and gave me the batteries!). They also gave me a $10 gift card. Customer service at it's finest.

If you are ever in Indianapolis vist Tasty's Gift Factory. They are marketed towards women as a place you can go and discreetly purchase your items without having to worry about some freak in a trench coat staring over your shoulder (originally they were called Ms Tasty's, not sure why the name change but they still only employ women).

Anyway, they treat you really nice.

You are so right. I just took a job with a company who is moving its corporate offices here from New York. Many of the NY staff have come here to assist with training and transition, and they freak out when the sky gets even a little grey. A towering anvil cloud really pushes them over the edge.

Currently my department is housed in an office trailer while the main building goes through a massive renovation to accommodate us, and the Easterners are terrified on our behalf that we'll be sucked away into the sky.

Great.

GenCon is in Indy this week. If any of those fuckers show up in stormtrooper outfits on my street they'll be looking at the business end of my AR.

Fucking GenCon....

Oh, for you gun-nuts:  We have the "don't back down" law modeled after Florida's law. Basically the threshold to use lethal force in self defense is you have to "feel threatened". Use to be you had to prove you were in mortal danger. Not anymore. Now you just have to claim you "felt" like you were in danger.

I have a friend who owns a shitload of AK's and AR's, 40 round mags, 1000's of rounds of ammo (most of which is steel core) and not a thing he owns is illegal. Hell, most of the gun stores are ran by off-duty cops.

I only know of the old Vegas.

Even though the group of friends I have traveled with for decades all over the world renting blocks of hotel rooms for debauchery, goes regularly to Vegas, I have never that trip with them. Driven by a couple times, stopped in the suburbs even, but it has been awhile since I've made it downtown. The last time I was on the strip was for the Dead in the early 1980s at the Aladdin.

He nailed it. A palace for swine.

It is hard to put into words how fiercely I love this terrible place. I guess it's that so many people are so excited to be here, it's hard not to share that excitement.

If you don't have a gambling habit and aren't poor, Las Vegas is paradise on earth. Fun, ambitious people choose to make it their home. There's no state income tax. The food is wonderful and relatively cheap. All the best washed-up musicians play here. The people are super-nice. Drugs are socially accepted and readily available 24 hours a day. You're never at a loss for something awesome to do here in hell.

And since you posted such a nice article, I will share with you my favorite place to go here (it has nothing to do with casinos):
