I was probably 10 or 11 years old when my mother excitedly announced she had tape recordings of someone I really needed to hear. Her brother had introduced her to Tom Lehrer's music back when she was a kid (Her favorite song was "Be Prepared") and now it was time to pass on the tradition. We spent the whole evening listening to those tapes and I've been a fan ever since. My favorite song, however, is the beautiful and evocative "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park".
A boy's best friend is his mother.

Awwwww, sniff sniff. I did the EXACT same thing with my youngest. And yes, we are partial to the pigeons too.
