You're dead right. Some of its writing is flawless. Or maybe that's the mad cow speaking.

I think it is great that Shatner has found such success with this character. It is no surprise, to those of us who watch the show, that he has won an Emmy for the part.

James Spader is my hero. I've always been a fan going back to his evil elitist characters in those shitty 80's flicks. But the Alan Shore character is the greatest on TV. The best was when Spader and Candice Bergen (aka Murphy Brown, who was a major player in bringing down Bush I) were debating Obama v. Hillary last season.

Some of Spaders closing arguments could be considered the best social writing ever done on TV.

Wanna have a sleep-over? You could be my Alan Shore?

I'm afraid of clowns and I sleep walk.

I shamelessly cribbed from one BL sketch and publicly beat a local luminary over the head with it. Remember the little girl who couldn't smile? Spader grew up here and knows the place cold.

Great stuff and belongs on whatever passes anymore for the printed page.

I would totally go for a Shatner ticket. You gotta get behind a guy whose wife just happened to end up floating in the pool part way through a messy divorce.
