For those of you who can tear themselves away from Hurricane Gusty or VPILF Busty:
The software giant applied for the patent in 2005, and was granted it on August 19, 2008. US patent number 7,415,666 describes "a method and system in a document viewer for scrolling a substantially exact increment in a document, such as one page, regardless of whether the zoom is such that some, all or one page is currently being viewed".
The patent's listed 'inventors' are Timothy Sellers, Heather Grantham and Joshua Dersch. However, Page Up and Page Down keyboard buttons have been in existence for at least quarter of a century, as evidenced by this image of a 1981 IBM PC keyboard... (read more)
I think they're also a little pissed about Google's new, open-source Chrome browser.

The only time MS has exercised their patents is when someone else tries to bring them to court on bullshit. They, and all the other big shots have patents on every conveivable thing. It's just to protect them from the Pantent Mill folks like RAMBUS.

I loved that fucking keyboard; had heft, the tactile recoil of a manual type writer and function keys placed where the good lord meant them. Fucking mongoloid left handed hamsters ruined it for everyone.
Northgate made a serviceable replacement, for a while, and they were worth every penny of their $100 price tag. Now they cost a small fortune, when you can find them at all.

That was the whole selling point of the Das Keyboard, other than the blank keys gimmick; it had that nice tactile response and clicking of an old IBM keyboard.

The American version doesn't contain any cakefarts. (can we let that term die, yet?)

The stuff overseas is packed with thujone (one of the chemicals found in wormwood), which has been erroneously believed to be the "hallucinogenic" element in the Green Fairy. However, analyses of vintage pre-ban absinthes have found that there was actually very little thujone in the good stuff.
And it definitely gives me fucked up dreams.

The best part of the early IBM PC keyboards was the key covers (shells). It made it easy to reposition the key labels on a co-worker's keyboard just to screw with their head. I actually switched mine all to the Dvorak layout for a while back when I thought it would be fun to switch to the faster layout.

People keep offering it to me and, although tempted, I haven't taken anyone up on the offer as of yet.
I guess it is because I hear it tastes really nasty, although I've never really drank for the taste... haha..

Nothing like reading the mis-information on Absinthe. Thujone/Wormwood, does put you in an altered state.
I have drunk Absinthe for 30 plus years, and if you use the right technique with well made Absinthe, you do achieve an altered state, easily.
I have mine made privately, and it is damn good tasting, thank you very much.
I will upload a relevant pic soon....

The Greeks used wormwood-infused wine as a treatment for, among other things, drunkenness. This jibes with my own experiences of that wonderful stuff.
I like the taste, myself. From my limited experimentation with the American-legal absinthes, compared to my trials of homemade or European absinthes, I'd say that there's no appreciable difference in performance.

You slow the rate of drinking down, and let the dosage accumulate (Thujone) I drink per hour, after about 3-4 hours, you move into an altered state of very sublime proportions.
My experience, again and again.

I've had it.
One of my favourite Liqueurs is Khat Liqueur. Taste great, and gets you stimulated simultaneously...

Thanks for the tip. I’ve tried it, legal and illegal, many times but never got off. There is “a subtle science and exact art” of getting fucked up.

I have friends that have bio-assayed wormwood alone. They report the same effects as I and others have experienced...
Happy Voyage!
