I hope you're not one of New York's finest - holy shit that looks like a death sentence, and the pay is about as good. Actually, I kinda hate New York at this point, and think that just about any job here is a death sentence.
I live part-time in the NYC area - until fairly recently I lived in "outer Williamsburg," better known as Bed Stuy. I used to laugh when I saw the hipster kids moving their stuff into that neighborhood - they were just meat on the hoof to the kids from the surrounding projects, not at all a "gentrification" threat. My neighbors thought that hipsters attracted more predators to our block, which was mainly owner-occupied, with their skinny gimpitude.
