The comments are incredibly telling...

My mother sent those to me as a PPS email attachment, about a month ago. Naturally, we were both present when my bar mitzvah took place there, so our connection to the place is a little different. There's still no one from NYC who doesn't have the image of the towers as part of the skyline, or just the view down the block.

Your only 20 years old?  Your Bar Mitzvah was on 9/11/01 at the WTC?  Wow!

Shuddit. 04.01.84. Even if we were gonna have it on 9/11 (nevar 4get), we would not have had it in the morning. WotW wasn't even open (tho no one ever speaks of dead Mexican dishwashers...hmm).

I worked here for a week during the rescue/cleanup phase.  We had to check all the incoming supplies for bombs before we could bring them up onto the porch.  Very scary times, those.

I was under the impression the WTC was there from the late 60's early 70's.

Constructed 1966-1973, making them roughly as old as I was at the time, too.
