OK, so going with that logic...

The Westchester Golf Club can now charge women rates 10 times higher than those for men... they will advertise a standard exorbitant rate - which women must pay - but give guys a 'discount' to encourage their joining.

Similarly, we will allow the Union League in Philadelphia to charge a ridiculously high membership fee, but only darkies have to pay it... everyone else gets a 'discount'.

The New York Yacht Club will boast an obscenely high joining fee, but anybody that's non-Jewish gets the 'discount', because, after all, we need to encourage their membership.

Fair enough?  I mean, it's just businesses pricing their wares, right?

And after all, everyone knows that big business deals are made at these places every day, and those poor darkies, Jews and women need to make contacts with protestant whities in order to get ahead, so they will benefit from having more crackers as members, right?

What a load of crap.  Discrimination is discrimination.

The nightclubs said the prices charged to men aren't so burdensome that they amount to denying them entry and male customers actually might benefit from ladies' nights because so many women attend.

Right.  Unless they're not interested in ladies.  Or unless they just feel like going out with the guys for the evening to watch the game and have some beers.  The learned judge presumes that the only reason a man ever goes to a pub is to chase tail.  How open-minded and non-discriminatory of her.

Bitch.

The ruling sounds good to me.  I’m all for private organizations being able to limit membership or attendance as they see fit.  I see no reason why the American-Italian club should be forced to grant me (I’m not of Italian heritage) a membership or allow me to attend events at their facilities.  In the past, the Cherokee have been forced to accept against their will negroes as tribal members ; I believe they have the right to determine for themselves who is Cherokee and exclude everyone else.  Forcing organizations to open their doors to people the membership doesn’t want to associate with has lead to the decline of social participation in America.

Sure. If you don't like their private rules, go somewhere else. Is there some crucial social service that they provide that society as a large can't provide?

If I want to run a midgets club, nobody over 4' through the door, why can't I?

You can.  If you are running a "private club" you can be as discriminatory as you like.  That was the court's ruling.

And it's true for all private clubs, including country clubs. You can discriminate all you like, as long as you don't take money from the government.
