If you like dry gin (as opposed to the nasty Dutch stuff), you should really try this one.
I used to go for the Tanq or the Bombay, but not any more.

Thanks Wilber... I procured a bottle of said gin, shook it vigorously with just a drop of Martini and Rossi Vermouth and had one hell of a martini.... I soon grew tired of the shaking, pouring and icecubes and started drinking straight from the bottle like the true alcoholic I am and was pleasantly surprised by the quality....

Grown in California from what I have heard.

Right on! It's a staple in my cabinet. It's one of those rare "Organic" products that's neither over-priced nor disappointing. I actually find it so flavourful I rarely add the vermouth.

Alcohol makes me cranky.
Poetry: Ode to Coffee and Cigarettes By Nate Elam
Look into my blurry, morning eyes and you may see a man you do not recognize.
A man that would steal candy from babies, spit his gum onto a crowded sidewalk, watch as old ladies cross dangerous intersections, let the door close in your face, pretend not to hear as you ask me to hold the elevator or steal the gas pump you have been waiting on for five minutes.
That would squeeze the toothpaste from the top of the tube, spin the loaf, leave the dishes undone for a week, wet towels in the bathroom floor, the garbage in, dog out, dirty socks everywhere, lights on and seat up...
A man that, were it not for that first strong cup of coffee and heavenly cigarette
would be capable of fixing elections, abandoning kittens in December, eating puppies, using the last roll of toilet paper without telling anyone, burning the library at Alexandria, running Auschwitz, or voting for Nixon.
And so,
Thanks be to the Virginia tobacco farmer and the coffee bean picker of Guatemala,
thanks to the House of Maxwell and Mr. Phillip Morris.
It is you,
Who just this morning has saved the world from a man who,
Were it not for your efforts,
Would be the antichrist.

I bought a bottle of this in the duty free shop in Denmark because I had never seen it before, and didn't think it was offered in the States. Cost the equivalent of 15 USD. It got sealed in its duty free bag, then loaded in my carry on for the trip to Dulles. After a genuinely wonderful flight to Dulles aboard Scandinavian Air (the europeans apparently still understand how customers are supposed to be treated by Airlines) I transfer to United for my domestic flight home. I forgot about my treasure until I hit security. The TSA agent escorts me out of security and I check my carry on to the tune of $75.00 which the United ticket agent took great pride in being a cunt about. I toyed with the idea of ditching the bottle, but I thought "By God I can't get this in the U.S., I am getting this baby home!" Check my bag and go back through security, where another dumbass TSA picked me out of line for wearing the same clothes that I had worn the previous trip through fifteen minutes earlier, without incident, and even though I was flying on Military Orders and Displayed said orders and my military ID (my last trip for the Navy, hurrah!), I got wanded, and patted down in front of the whole fucking airport, after waiting for them to get around to it for thirty minutes. I get to the airport bar for a well deserved beer, and greeting me is a large sign informing that they offer Tullamore Dew. Apparently it is widely avaiable in the U.S.
It has an odd taste which has been described as similar to envelope glue, smoker's breath, and reminiscent of polish vodka, and this bottle has lasted nearly a year now.
I refuse to allow myself to believe that it is anything but the finest whiskey I have ever had.

Tullamore isn't bad for the price. It's no Glen Livet but for 18 bucks, I'll share a bottle of it.

If you read my introduction in Taint's thread you will see that I haven't made up my mind. Perhaps I was simply letting you leftist cockfags know that I have drunk the Obama piss and will take part in the historical aspect of this election by being party to the complete destruction of this great nation tomorrow.

Bridgeport, among many. Within a 1.5 mile radius of our abode, there are about 15 breweries with their pubs. We have to work out more often down here...

Well...I think next summer I'm going to head down the coast of Oregon again...just to drink beer. I get creeped out by the towns and people along the I5, but the coast is nice, and the people aren't really that much different from British Columbians. Just as long as I keep the hell away from the nightmare of creepy shithole Christian redneck towns like Roseberg, which I swear is at least partially populated by lizard people from hell (I spent the night there a few summers ago and almost lived to regret it), I should be able to come out alive and even keep a portion of my...sanity.

Pacific City: The Pelican. Best Brew Pub on the Coast. Great Oysters and Clam Chowder as well. Worth the drive south. You would be right on the beach, and wouldn't have to drive anywhere, nor would be able to. Walk across the road or down the beach to your lodgings....

You were serious? How can you possibly still be undecided? There will probably never be two more different candidates (I'm not saying that it's not possible, but it probably won't happen). I can understand preferring the other guy, but being undecided mystifies me.
Are you waiting for something in particular?

I know the one, and yes...excellent idea. But a very good friend of mine lives in Myrtle Creek, so I might have to turn off at the Umpqua and drive east for awhile. I had one of the best and friendliest meals I've ever had in a restaurant in a one-horse town called Elkton about 6 summers ago, and I've always wanted to return.

Can't vouch for it now, but at the time the produce was all grown on local farms and the cooking was excellent. Mind you, after spending time in Roseburg, where the IHOP was the height of gourmet cuisine, Elkton seemed positively urbane.

Mr. Sofie is the same, but he doesn't have to worry about turning into a hambeast, so he can have all the sugar he wants. He almost yakked when I poured it. He only drinks sake (when he drinks at all). Our bar is always stocked, because we rarely drink.

Two more different candidates? Are you fucking insane? Why because one is white and the other black? This election is rife with the stink of similarity in the two men running. Obama is just to the right of Marx and McCain is within elbow rubbing distance of that.
Quit fucking up my thread.
