There's no context and the comments seem to indicate this is faked, but if so, I still don't get the joke.

He didn't actually hit her, but still, why?...

It's art, people. It speaks to the deepest yearnings all humans share: our need for love and understanding in a often chaotic, violent world where, too often, we feel isolated and alone. The shedding of pants - and so many layers, at that - represents the letting-go of our fears and escape from our inhibitions, so often instilled by a conformist society that resists real expressions of our true emotions. Punching the woman represents our refusal to be pulled in and controlled by societal demands; it's an active resistance, if you will, of social norms symbolizing our determination to seek a greater truth despite attempts by society to present its expectations as a form of choice. Finally, when our hero drinks from the bottle, he is drinking in the real freedom of life which he has seized for himself, representing his determination to live life on his own terms.

Quite though provoking, really. Bravo, I say.

Sure, Taint seems wise, but you'll notice he ignored any explanation of the boy's disgusting underpants, which seemed, to me, integral to the plot.
