My Halloween decoration consists of an artificial jack-o’-lantern on the porch with a light bulb inside.  Many of my neighbors have hanging ghosts, scarecrows, and other cartoonish items hanging on ropes.  Because of busybodies like the old hags in the article, rope seems to be a popular theme this year.
