The kid is discovered at 10:0am by his caretaker, and the parents hadn't seen the kid since he went to the bathroom the prior evening.

"The Travoltas are wonderful, loving parents, and their priority is their children," Singer told The Post at the time.

"They have [taken] and they continue to take the best possible care of their children."

Right.

OK, so maybe I'm odd-man-out here, but I kiss both my boys goodnight *every* night just before they go to bed.  If Travolta is supposed to be a good parent, how come he doesn't even see his kid before bed, particularly on New Years??  Bloody hell.

And I think it's safe to say that the 'caretaker' is looking for a new job about now.

OMG it's a "tragedy." That's what they said on TV too: "The Travolta Tragedy."

I suppose that when I delve beneath my jaded outer surface that the death of any child is tragic, particularly if it could have been prevented. Am I wrong to find this outpouring of hyperbole sickening?

You're only wrong if you're actually physically sickened, and not using hyperbole to describe your feelings.

This is the kid who had an ongoing medical problem--but of course many diseases don't exist according to Scientology.  Apparently the doctors settled on Kawasaki Disease.  Rich people's kids have such interesting maladies.

Whatever the kid's problems were, his parents treated him by removing "all the chemicals" from the home, with the guidance of another Scientologist "expert."

Going by the boy's photos, he really did have something wrong with him.  He looks bloated--not chubby or pubescent, but actually puffy.  It's a shame he was born into a family whose religion doesn't believe in modern medicine.

He apparently had some disease, which only those under five get, and which is not normally fatal, but that manifests as epilepsy in adulthood. The boy was 16. He had a seizure, hit his head on a bathroom fixture (supposedly), and wasn't found until the following morning. That had to have been some wallop to kill him outright. Autopsy to follow on Monday, according to authorities. But with the Travolta's and all their Scientology BS, I come damn near close to saying they deserve some tragedy. Probably not the loss of a child, but another movie flop or three for Travolta (anything where he isn't in drag).

Please no.  One Battlefield Earth is enough for a generation.

A poor or middle class parent who deprived a child of medical treatment for religious reasons would be facing charges at this point, or at least be considered a “person of interest” in a negligent homicide investigation.  I wonder what the going rate for police bribes is in the Bahamas?

OK, so the latest news is that he *was* getting anti-seizure meds.  So was Travolta going against his religion then?  Will he be censured or excommunicated?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Maybe he'll do the whole "Invader's Plan" as a six week miniseries.
