Yep, now I get to make fun of the supporters of incompetents. Folks elected to the highest office in the land who have less experience than the lady that runs my local school board.

The last half of a minute (Demond Wilson) is the part that really had me slamming my fist whilst yelling "Fuck yeah" here (All-Though, even more disgusting than the thought of an inauguration its-self {I've never - And, never will - watched one} was perusing the HuffingtonPost main page, and witnessing Ariana Huffington's attempt to make the day all about her and her fucking friends).

Look at it this way, Phah... you win either way.
--- If O-bah-ma does a good job and gets the American house in order, you win because you will personally benefit from the success.
--- if O-bah-ma screws up royally, he'll suffer the same fate as Carter and the Republicans will quickly retake the White House, and likely Congress as well.
Heads you win, tails you win.

RT, Ptah and I feel like the last three people on earth who haven't been taken by the Obama body snatchers. Fortunately we can spot them by the glazed look and unrestrained hopefulness in their eyes. OK, sometimes we confuse them with Hari Krishnas and Jesus freaks, but they're all the same anyway.

Is the glazed look is telegraphing a Reagan-on-Rushmore movement?

I thought that's what he just did. He capped the pay for senior management who make more than $100k. Actually, that's not a very high wage in DC. There are lots of union workers in and around the White House who make more than that.

So far Obama has already suspended all Guantanamo show trials pending review, frozen the wages of the top earners employed at the White house, started the wheels in motion to lift the gag order on recipients of us aid from mentioning birth control and/or abortion, and has finished the first draft of his executive order to close Guananamo Bay within one year. Damn that man! He's all flowery words and no action.

Sorry all, call me crazy or whatever, but I am not an Obama-lama-ding-dong fan.
When the man does something other than "inspire" feelings and emotions, then I will be behind him. Yes, yes, he's just blowing such wonderful sunshine up everyone's asshole, that we should all discount the fact that he's done nothing yet in the political realm...because...it's so bad here, that he can't possibly be any WORSE than Bush!! Remember, that *alone* is enough of a reason to worship, erm, I mean vote for Obama. Some people are just so glad to see Bush go, that they will blindly follow any semblance of hope and sanity. The American Way (TM) is so threatened and crumbling (ok that part was sarcasm-free!) that *anything* or *anyone* has *got* to be better...!
So drink all ye zombots, of the sugary-kool aid that is otherwise known as an "Obamapolitan". I would suggest you rim the glass with some grains of salt though. Or you can skip the glass, and just rim Obama directly. Drink and ye will be fulfilled...
Remember all ye faithful, never to judge a man by what he's done, but by what he may possibly do that isn't worse than the guy before him...!
Please be sure to shed a tear for the racial harmony and well trodden trail that Obama has forged for us to follow in order to get to the end of the yellow brick road so that we can meet with the Wizard and find our way back home to Kansas. Don't forget to see if you can get the Wizard to give GW a heart while you're there!
OH wait...

To put it mildly. I was tempted to add reactionary, but that wouldn't be fair.
It appears that RT's big complaint is that he has not actually done anything yet (although the items you list seem like a pretty good start). RT - you seem quite agitated about the fawning. It has been pretty thick, but all in all not surprising given the circumstances. Just don't be like Limbaugh and hope for failure.

I'd rather people support Obama on his own merits. So far, he has not done anything other than get elected. So he inspired hope in the desperate masses. Now let's see what he can do with that.
I'm not saying I am against Obama. Just that I am against the BLIND WORSHIP.
I hope he does something great for this country as much as the rest of you. But I hate blind worship.

Btw, when blacks say that now they feel they are 'equal' in this country because of Obama being elected - is that not a smack in the face to the other minorities like jews, asians, hispanics, and even gays - that have not had the fortune to have a member of their race/religion/sexual orientation elected to the highest post in this country?

What you said, RT.
I hated B*** (can't we give him a symbol or something, like Prince, so I don't have to hear or write his name again?). But I wasn't pleased with Obama either - he's done nothing of substance in his career, and my even greater concern is he has no long-time confidants (so called 'peeps')... and therefore no source of trusted council. And I never trust a man who has no old, trusted friends.
I am in wait-and-see mode.

To be honest, if Obama does end up being an "empty shirt" in the office it might not be that bad of a thing..... He has promised us sweeping change, but has yet to expound on what much of this change is.... We might all be safer with a president that doesn't get shit done.... Bush got shit done and changed laws giving the Executive branch more power than it's ever had before..... I just don't trust the Federal government to do right by me, so I'd prefer them doing nothing to them bringing us change...
