From the sounds of it, the dog had no problems interacting with humans. The humans were the problem.

Neutering the dog would have solved the problem of unwanted sexual behavior.  I’m sure the dog was good natured and outgoing in its non-sexual interactions with humans.

I agree that killing the dog was unnecessary.  On the other hand, who would want to adopt a retired bisexual porn-star dog?
