At least it wasn't McDonald's. That's be like injecting Krazy Glue directly into your arteries.

Elmer's Glue-All is really a much healthier option.

On the rare occasions that I crave an actual fast-food-burger-with-starch-side-and-fizzy-sugar-water experience, Burger King is where I go. There's something about the chemicals they put in the beef to make it taste "char-broiled"...And unlike McDonald's fries, their fries don't taste like they've ever been near a potato. It has a kind of awful beauty.

That bogus "char-broiled" taste is exactly what I hate about Burger King's hamburgers. Wendy's hamburgers, on the other hand, kick ass.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that the "PC police" give a complete pass to the use of the word "Philistine" in this context despite its racist origins? Just wondering.

Wendy's gives us the trots. Because it's just the hop-and-skips and not actual food poisoning, we suspect it is the soap they use on their griddles. After it happened in two entirely different cities we had to stop going there.

A thread being subverted and then devoted to your love of Corporate Burgers? Are you all shilling for Dirck's keepers?

Agreed.
...and if I'm going to eat way too many fast food burgers, I'll drag My ass down to Krystal and eat a couple sacks of ratburgers.

I love my fast food burgers and tacos.... Burger King has been my favorite lately, but I just came off of a McDonalds kick not that long ago... Burger King also has the best breakfast and onion rings as well.... When it comes to the taco slinging places you can't go wrong with Qdobas or Taco Johns....

Hey, it's tasty, cheap and fast..... Work pays for all my food one or two weeks a month and I eat a lot of Famous Dave's BBQ, Granite City, Braccos and Olive Garden when they foot the bill.... If it's my money I'm looking for the most bang for the buck....

Olive Garden is really mediocre for the price you pay, or it was the last time I went there.
When I want Italian I'll go to a place called Frankie's. Prices are similar but at least you're getting really outstanding food. They bring you wooden bowls of hot rolls covered in oil, garlic, and cheese. It's unreal.
The point being, you can find a better Italian joint.

The problem is that in some area's, OG really IS your best option for Italian food.
On a side note, I know some food-loving Italians that would say, "Olive Garden is fairly good for "chain" Italian food". Of course, they'd never say this in front of another Italian, or even loud enough for anyone else to hear them admit to this. It is en vogue to be a food elitist, after all.
I went to Bucca Di Beppo last night and it was the worst Italian meal I've ever had in my entire life, hands down. Fazoli's would have been a better option. Hell, CiCi's would have been a better option. We had the Lasagna and some sampler dish of their other baked pasta's (manacotti, stuffed shells, etc). It was freaking nasty. The layers between the lasagna would have had to been measured by a micrometer and all the noodles were hard as shit throughout both dishes.
I had gone, once before, and really enjoyed it. I'll never eat there again, it was so fucking nasty.
Oh and, umm, Bucca costs twice what OG does...
We really only have 1 decent ORIGINAL Italian restaurant in Indy, and they are quite (locally) famous as Paul Newman use to come to Indy, just to go to this place, every so often. It's called Iariah's. I haven't eaten there in 15 years, though.
For some reason, I really like Johnny Carino's. I'm not sure if it is just our local one or what but it kicks the shit out of anything else nearby, (especially Carrabba's).
That's one sad thing about Indy, no really good Italian fare to speak of....
Believe it or not, though, we have the best sushi joint within 500 miles... I guess that is some comfort.

Johnny Carino's is good, I rarely get the opportunity to eat there though because it's usually an hour wait at the door for a seat to come available... My favorite authentic Italian restaurant is Adriano's in Cody, WY, it might be a little too authentic though, I'm always scared that the chef and waiters want to cut me... By the way, I'm not a "food elitist" either, rarely do the food elitists honestly tell where they eat, they just tend to be smug about where you eat...

The best Italian I've ever had is near B-more... Nothing compares in the Land of the Corn. Yeah, RT rocks and all, but I sure miss B-mores Italian fare... That and the blue crabs.
Our Carino's never has more than 1/2 hour wait, but only because it's within a few miles of Bucca, Olive Garden and Carrabba's, so it lightens the load. Of course, I've only been on a Friday or Saturday night once, so that might have something to do with it.

I have a friend from Italy (He lives in Bologna) who loves Italian-American food and he indulges on his frequent trips to the States. It is, he points out quite correctly, a cuisine distinct from that of Italy but with plenty to say in its favor. That still doesn't excuse going to Olive Garden.
