Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls
Prof. OrangePlus I, GED, MCSE (Former)
Will entertain and enlighten you on his discoveries concerning the meaning of life, the development and place of culture, and the ultimate disposition of the concept of meaning.
Once upon a time there was a molecule. This was a seriously hip little fucker. He had a really cool superpower, no other molecule is even close to like it, in fact while expressing itself it "discovered" that the fundamental laws of physics of energy and mass behaved a little bit differently when it was around. It could reproduce itself. If given a soup of chemicals some energy and time, it would make copies, it had to. It had to because of it's shape, it had no choice in the matter.
This molecule represents the sum total and meaning of life. It's the reverse of the entropic principal. A poke with a stick to the second law. A knife that sharpens itself as it cuts. It creates structure and orders the universe around it. It is literally attempting to remake the entirety of everything into itself. It threw copies of itself in sacks around itself so as to absorb more of the world to make copies with. It developed methods of collecting, storing and releasing energy so as to facilitate the breaking and joining of molecules. It tied the sacks together to maximize the efficiency of copying, atomic economies of scale. And it worked. It evolved into different classes of wrapped up sacks so that one sack could concentrate on collecting energy and others would feed on them to collect and utilize that energy, vertically integrating the molecular economy. The sacks evolved into bigger sacks which could move out farther, spreading more of the molecule, changing it, strategizing.
Competing strategies for reproduction of animals and their seed molecules developed apace maximizing the production of molecules for the given amount of usable resources and energy. These strategies included exoskeletons, social colonies, live birth, and viagra. It's all the same thing. Pablo Picasso and a serial rapist are doing the same thing, they just have different strategies. Western Culture, Asian Culture, Black Culture, Gaming Culture, all expressions of a molecule who's shape dictates that it makes copies of itself, the expression of that shape giving rise to strategies to collect raw materials and energy.
Western Culture gained a technologic and military advantage due to the fact that the climate and geography of Europe was advantageous to collection of resources and energy. It used that advantage to reach out of its environment in search of more resources, expressing it's reproductive strategy. To make the world England. For the Glory of France.
I don't believe in the superiority of cultures. Culture is the means by which an organism survives and reproduces, based on it's environment. Arab, Islamic culture developed in a desert with few options for the collection of resources, Chinese and Indian cultures developed in a region with large yearly differences in rainfall, Western Culture developed in the glow of the Gulf Stream, Africa in a land covered with predatory animals. Culture is not something that people "built", no one thought it up. It's what is, same as the weather.
If you are such a fool as to believe that Western Culture, whatever that really means or can be defined, is in some way morally superior, then you must explain it's crimes. The largest crimes committed in history are of Western Culture. You would have to explain, not just National Socialism or Communism, but King Leopold I. He used to own Congo. It was his own personal property and was not part of or administered by, the country he was king of. It was the scene of one of the most egregious holocausts. All of the sins of the calendar were committed here. It was done for the pleasure of a single man. His molecules, his culture, his reproductive strategy demanded it. This does not make Western Culture morally inferior to other cultures. If they had had the opportunity they would have done much the same. Geography and climate gave the Europeans that opportunity, nothing more. Surpluses in resources and energy allowed by that climate, created an environment conducive to higher levels of organizations allowing for the greater collection of resources (technology), creating more surpluses.
Another way to put it, never confuse intelligence with a bull market.

Every civilization built on the one before it, and western culture is a hodge-podge of other cultures cobbled together.
The chinese invented gunpowder. Should we applaud whites for turning it into a means of killing rather than using it for fireworks? Is that what makes the white man great?
Yes, I could give many, many more examples, but I know it's wasted here.

The multiple sperm donors are also evolutionary winners; they have spread their DNA without incurring the costs of providing for their offspring. Her neighbors say she is young, so she should be fertile for another 20 years or so. Her future craps in the gene pool may not be as spectacular as this one, but never fear, more turds are on the way! Meanwhile, most of us are childless or have small families. Unless the world changes to favor those who have fewer offspring and invest a lot in their upbringing, the gene pool will become very thick, brown, and smelly because of all the turds that aren’t being cleaned out of it.
Muslims appear to be employing a high birth rate as a takeover strategy in parts of Western Europe and Israel; think of it as a reproductive coup. There may not be a similar, conscious effort on the part of Hispanics to outbreed other races/ethnic groups in the U.S., but the out-of-control breeding pattern among Hispanics---encouraged by the greedy, thoughtless Catholic Church, no doubt---will nonetheless result in crowding out the other demographic groups in America as far as numerical proportions. The future is brown, for better or worse.

Makes you wonder if being poor and uneducated AND following religious edicts AND producing hordes of children is a feedback loop. For instance, if a couple has too many children too early in life, they can't build up a nest egg (too many expenses) or have time/money for education (thus limiting their future job prospects...read: future pay). Because they can't build a nest egg, they don't have funds to pass on to their children, who---if they follow their parents' example---will have children early, live impoverished, etc. Throw in major cultural influences/traditions---say, coercion from fellow Catholics or Muslims or other authority or social pressures---that encourage couples to avoid birth control and pop out as many babies as possible as SOON as possible---let's hear it for teen pregnancy---and you have the Perfect Storm for out-of-control baby production lines coupled with extreme poverty. Naturally, that poverty sometimes creates a parasitic, resentful relationship between underpriviliged families and more-monied "host" society/societies. Along with blind tradition, the despair and desparate need for hope that arise from crippling poverty drive low-income families to---you guessed it---the very churches and mosques that push for high birth rates while sucking funds from the families and thus perpetuating further poverty. [Sigh.] Simple ignorance, perhaps stemming from the lack of a higher education that would teach the wisdom of birth control, has to be thrown into the mix, too. One giant cycle of reckless baby-making.

Thanks for the baseless generalisation.
Or maybe the problem is that the educated fucks are too self-centered to bother having kids which drives down the production of intelligent people.
The number of highly-educated childless 30-somethings in the finance industry is shocking, smart people who's ideals of the perfect lives preclude reproduction until it's far too late to successfully do so.
Simply put - if you are 35, educated and successful yet have not had children you are an absolute failure at life.
Basically, you suck.

Sure, self-centeredness could affect reproductive rate. There's probably a whole constellation of factors that affect under- or overbreeding---some factors which no doubt are politically incorrect to discuss but which exist anyway. (When I have all the answers, I'll apply for a Nobel.)

I don't say this often, but Tojo is correct (like you want or need my approval, shutthefuckup!).
Darwinisim balances out the mass reproduction of the stupid so that there is always a proportion of stupid people vs people almost as smart as I. It's god's little way of pissing me off. If stupid people only bred as much as the rest of us, their higher death rate would soon clean them out. They need the extra bodies.
If we could only have a policy of fixing anyone with an IQ below 85. I've spent my whole life fighting the stupid. I should write a book about my human spay and neuter program. I know, I could call the book something personal, like, umm... I know! My Struggle!

Here's a classic experiment about the end results of uncontrolled overbreeding, in this case mice. (I have to wonder if the "beautiful ones" were gay spinsters. Sigh...) It isn't exactly predictive of human behavior in dense populations; humans have advanced coping skills. Nonetheless, a POORLY-HANDLED population explosion could be as disastrous among humans as it is among rodents. An informed description of the rat/mice experiments can be found at the National Institutes of Health:
http://nihrecord.od.nih.gov/newsletters … story1.htm
"The Mouse Universe"
In the early ‘60s, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) acquired property in a rural area outside Poolesville, Maryland. The facility that was built on this property housed several research projects, including those headed by Dr. [John B.] Calhoun. It was here that his most famous experiment, the mouse universe, was created. In July 1968 four pairs of mice were introduced into the Utopian universe. The universe was a 9’ square metal pen with 54” high sides. Each side had four groups of four vertical, wire mesh “tunnels”. The “tunnels” gave access to nesting boxes, food hoppers, and water dispensers. There was no shortage of food or water or nesting material. There were no predators. The only adversity was the limit on space.
Initially the population grew rapidly, doubling every 55 days. The population reached 620 by day 315 after which the population growth dropped markedly. The last surviving birth was on day 600. This period between day 315 and day 600 saw a breakdown in social structure and in normal social behavior. Among the aberrations in behavior were the following: expulsion of young before weaning was complete, wounding of young, inability of dominant males to maintain the defense of their territory and females, aggressive behavior of females, passivity of non-dominant males with increased attacks on each other which were not defended against. After day 600 the social breakdown continued and the population declined toward extinction. During this period females ceased to reproduce. Their male counterparts withdrew completely, never engaging in courtship or fighting. They ate, drank, slept, and groomed themselves – all solitary pursuits. Sleek, healthy coats and an absence of scars characterized these males. They were dubbed “the beautiful ones”.
The conclusions drawn from this experiment were that when all available space is taken and all social roles filled, competition and the stresses experienced by the individuals will result in a total breakdown in complex social behaviors, ultimately resulting in the demise of the population.
Dr. Calhoun saw the fate of the population of mice as a metaphor for the potential fate of man.

People desperately try to bring a purpose or meaning to their reality by spewing out babies, believing in a higher power, or espousing themselves to some moral or political authority... I won't spew out babies because the financial burden would immediately put a damper on my hedonistic pursuits... I won't believe in a higher power because it's completely baseless and there is nothing out there that can't be explained through naturalistic processes.... I won't espouse myself to any moral or political authority because that would immediately be handing over my ability to act and think as an individual to someone else.... All there is left for me is individualistic philosophy, the right of the individual to choose their own life, beliefs and morals as they choose whether they succeed or fail.... I've made my life choices which are almost certain to grant me a very short life because of the risks that they hold... I'm a single white male without children which means my taxes are higher than most, there are no social programs set up to help out my kind, I'm blamed for the ills of the world and I'm soon to be a minority.... I think it's time we ignored octomom and let the fucking bitch rot for her life choices... I could give a rat's ass about her kids too, they're almost certain to end up as fucked up as their mom...

I'm 32, haven't reproduced and don't ever plan on it.... Life has it's kicks for sure, but it's purposeless and has no external meaning....
Tragically, I must agree (almost) 100%. I'd love to embrace all of society's comforting illusions, but I'm just not there. Guess I'm outside the game. I do feel sorry for the Octomom's offspring who may be saddled with a life of hell---through no fault of their own---because of their irresponsible slut mother's child-making addiction and the crackpot doctor who "helped" her out.
A side note: The Unabomber, crazy as he was, had a few brilliant observations in his Manifesto. He predicted that advances in technology would permanently sideline a lot of workers. The overclass in power would then have two choices. They could support the unemployed who would then while away their days in frivolous, meaningless pasttimes, OR the elites could exterminate that unneeded, parasitic underclass.
Frankly, I expect a Soylent Green world in the future---squalor, crime, stifling pollution, pampered elites oblivious to lower-class misery---except I think we'll be eating crap such as hydroponic algae product grown in vats rather than chowing on processed human remains...algae being cheaper to produce, I suspect. Deceased humans might be dumped in trash heaps to rot or be burned as cordwood once the bodies have desiccated (like all those Egyptian mummies the English once burned in their fireplaces). "Lovely" prospects for a world that already has a declining quality of life.

What noone has mentioned so far is the obvious fact that all these kids are fucking retarded/disabled/stupid and will require occupational therapy, speech therapy, aides in class, special education, etc etc. All of which will keep me employed, of course, overseeing it all, but the waste involved here is just mind boggling.
Dirck, man, what's up with the fact you have no hope, no love, and no magic in your life? Get a cat, man, or volunteer somewhere, or fall in love. Of course we adore you, but you sound like you're dead and buried at 32.

What I said sounds incredibly depressing, but it's not really that way in practice... It was nothing more than a realist look at mankind's place in the universe... Octomom and her infatuation with having children has showed complete disregard for society and represents in a small way what is wrong with us as humans... My rant simply expressed my disdain at people spewing out kids and religion and politics preventing people from thinking for themselves... It was an attempt to describe various coping devices people use and how they hold little if any substance....

I did mention it. It isn’t certain that all of the kids will be defectives, but extreme prematurity and the interventions needed to keep very small premies alive increase the odds that some or all of Octowhore’s litter will be tards and cripples who will be lifelong burdens on society. I don't care what any of you think of the idea, but I am all for eugenic selection of who should be allowed to reproduce.
