Does Obama remind anyone else of a Home Shopping Network announcer?

He talks too slowly for that

I think he talks slowly so that people can understand his big words. It's been a lot better than Bush's quick, mangled speech.

America is used to stupid speech from their president. Obama is slowly getting Americans back up to speed in dealing with intelligent statements from their leader.

Obama's slow speech whenever he goes off-script indicates that he thinks carefully before saying anything aloud. (He knows the mikes are always on.) I think it's the best policy, especially for someone in the public eye; but he is going to be mercilessly mocked for it.

Yes, and this is exactly the opposite of Bush's problem, where he would constantly start sentences before he'd figured out how he wanted them to end. I'll take Obama's pauses over "you want to put food on your family" any day.

Speaking from the perspective of working with people who know Bush personally, that bit was all an act. He is a politician after-all; the good old boy/dumb-fuck routine was all an act.
I'm just amused by how many of y'all fell for it cuz it made you feel good.
