The person who wrote the article isn't the person that the letter was sent to, and the person who received the letter probably didn't want to reveal how much money they make.

Screw them. If they had underpaid, do you think that they would have corrected it within 15 days? I would write them a 1 dollar check every month until it was paid off. After all, if it goes before the judge, you gotta show intent to pay...

I had an "accounting glitch" like that once last year. I got a whopping $9.50. Tastefully, payroll didn't ask for it back.
