Meet Michelle Owen. Concerned that an ex-boyfriend had used her laptop to search for child pornography, the Indiana woman asked police to search the computer for illegal images, but had her plan backfire when cops discovered two videos of her engaged in illicit acts with a dog. Owen, 24, was charged last week with two felony bestiality counts in connection with the video files, which a detective found in the laptop's "recycle bin."

She looks fun, I'll take sloppy seconds after the beagle.
And suddenly my interest in Tableau forensic products is piqued: http://www.tableau.com/

I’ll bet they're still watching those videos at the police station. Cops and firemen love that shit.

This is why a decommissioned tower is still in my closet. Do I need a drill press or something?

Thermite or an industrial shredder are the preferred methods for secure data destruction. Failing that, take the hard drives apart and hit the platters with a blow torch. That should do the job.

Thanks. But jesus, that sounds like a lot of work. Maybe I should just post her photos on teenplanetforums myself and be done with it.

It's a bit of work, yes, but you get some really bitchin' magnets out of it.

I take my old drives to the firing range and put a few .41 Mag slugs into them and then leave them in the driving range trash. Is this safe enough?

I don't understand the fuss. Do you think that she was really "abusing" the animal? It's not like she was raping it with a broomstick.
And you can clone drives waayyy cheaper than some fancy "forensics" device that is meant to be over priced to sell to police departments.
If you want to kill an old drive, just take it apart. Once the cover is off, just give it 30 seconds in the microwave. You can harvest the magnets if you want, I always do. Works great for killing CDs and DVDs too.

I agree. Dogs love nothing more than to please. She did not cross the line into abuse by any means. I guess some people will always be distressed by displays of true love and affection.
