Should I care whether torturing sandniggers was legal or not?

All that being said, this is going to be the precursor to fights by the Repubs over who Obama nominates to the Supreme Court this Summer...with (near-)vacant seats in Massachusetts (Kennedy) and Illinois (Burris) and no end in sight in Minnesota (prediction: Coleman vs. Franken won't be settled until a full year after the election), the SCOTUS nominations will be more partisan than the Bork selection in 1987...

You shouldn't, except those same rules apply to you under the Bush memorendums.

Franken-Coleman won't take that long.  I predict a maximum of two months before Franken is seated.  There is no way Coleman can win an appeal, and under the rules in Minnesota he will be on the hook for all legal costs incurred by both sides when he loses, and he's out of money.  He got the rules relaxed a bit on donations, but basically he'll have to find a bunch of people willing to sink an extra $30,000 into an appeal that they know they're going to lose just so that they can delay the inevitable.

I see him making a lot of noise over appealing and then backing out in the end.

Then again, there are a lot of rich, politically-minded people.  Maybe they would be willing to do that.

Is it too much to hope the Spanish will perform extrajudicial renditions?

Yes, but don't let that stop you from dreaming.
