I think we can all agree that this is nuts.

The Obama administration asked Rick Wagoner, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, to step down and he agreed, a White House official said.

The White House confirmed Wagoner was leaving at the government's behest after The Associated Press reported his immediate departure, without giving a reason.

Holy shmoly.

Well, the WH is getting a lot of flak for the banks' behavior in re our money (when it isn't even their doing--it was our worthless Congress that handed the $ over with no strings attached, pre-Nov. 4).  Doubtless there is an element of damage-control PR in being seen as taking a hard line with the automakers.

I'm not the least bit interested in nationalizing the automakers--or the banks, for that matter--but this is what they should have expected when they came begging.  If GM doesn't want to be beholden to the Federal government, then...well, they shouldn't have campaigned to become beholden to the Federal government.

Hmmm. I just got an email from the White House asking me to desist from making glazed beets at work. I'm a little worried.

Assure the stupid bureaucrat that you would never use ceramic glaze on your beets and that you can guarantee your glazed beets do not present a danger of lead poisoning to the public.

The White House just called and told me to shave in a little closer to the anus.

Dammit, it itches enough as is.  Plus, I don't shave what I can't see.  I'm comfortable with committing treason, in this instance.

This just makes me sick...  If the big three cannot run their own businesses then they deserve to go bankrupt...  I hate saying that because I'm an extremely pro-American consumer....  I have given untold thousands of dollars to the American automobile industry and have done so happily...  I'll be willing to give them thousands of dollars more, but only in free market exchanges, not in tax dollars or to a company that is run by the government in any way....  My politics are simple, I hate the Federal government with every bone in my body and I don't want them butting in....  Quit giving them any bailouts, quit regulating them, and quit trying to manage them...  If they succeed or if they fail should depend entirely on whether they can manage their money and give the consumer the product they want and need....

Funny how the last administration spent all their time going around telling other countries citizens how to run their lives. I guess this administration just believes in keeping the nannying a little closer to home.
