What shall we call these, construction mistakes or errors or goof ups? What ever we call it, it won't change a thing and still these look hilarious. Its quite surprising to see these and we really wonder how the engineers and architects who were part of these constructions must have reacted seeing them.

Well, a lot of those are remodels to remove features, but fun anyway. The bridge looks like one of the supports listed to one side, severing the roadway across the top.

At one point, we managed a transcontinental railroad without such egregious missteps. Is someone attempting to imply that general contracting has just gotten so bad that we should realize that hiring unskilled or non-union labor is fruitless? I still find "plastic surgery mistakes" goss moar o' teh funay.

Well, except for blowing up baskets full of Chinamen or working Negros to death or squishing a few hundred workers under or between rails and cars. We just didn't feel the schaedenfreud as much back then.

That's probably because we didn't consider them real people, at the time.
