I would be suspicious. Obviously the quote is not on Drudge anymore, but I read the story in using the link from DR and there was no such quote. Probably bogus.

I did, however, find this little item on Drudge Report regarding the Governor of Texas declaring state sovereignty. This should cause some waves.

Let me get this straight: wire tapping and secret interrogation camps are within the powers of the federal government as outlined in the constitution; universal health care is not.
I think I understand.

You'll recall that the fed took control of the money only in the last century... Before 1913 there was no permanent Federal income tax. Before 1913 money stayed within the state and Federal government could not use it to force the states into submission. I'm more than willing to support this man's battle. Anybody who thinks the Federal Government knows how to handle people's money just needs to look at our current state of affairs.

Governer Rick Perry wrote:
The Tenth Amendment is simple.
And, so is the Fourteenth Amendment which the Union enacted in order to "trump" it. Lots of luck with that (No . . . Seriously).

But once they get the magic number of 51% of voting citizens who pay no taxes, it's time to just write themselves checks all day long.
