His wife was in a room full of guns and they were still useless for self-defense. I have a feeling that if guns were actually as useful in stopping crimes as the NRA would claim, there would be a nightly feature on Hannity with stories of American Heroes who used their guns to protect hearth and home.

Sometimes it all comes together in a story lead. This is one of those times.
"A day after two deputies died in Crestview, an offense report filed against the gunman reveals he was angry Saturday about a missing tube of Clearasil."

Well shit, if you were 28 and needed clearasil, you might be a little angry too. (Likely from the roids though)

Yeah, well, you can't expect results from simply brandishing a hand-gun. You actually have to load and fire it to achieve any-thing.
I'm going to have grade your attempt to "spin" this story in-to an argument for "gun control" as a D minus.

Then deputies began looking for Cartwright to make an arrest. They learned he'd planned to go with friends to the Shoal River Gun Club in Crestview, a shooting range.
"They approached him, he was uncooperative, they utilized the Taser, and he went down to the ground," Spooner said Sunday. "He came up firing with a gun nobody saw. He probably had it concealed somewhere."
Yup. Would never expect a guy at a gun range to actually have a gun on him, no siree! Didn't see it coming at all.

A few more incidents like this might wean the poe-lice off those tasers they're so in love with.
