I love it when people who don't understand the rules start explaining them.  He didn't keep it pointed in a safe direction.  Didn't treat it as if it was loaded.  Didn't keep his finger off the trigger.  Didn't bother, or maybe didn't know how, to check if it was loaded.  I'll bet his mother is proud.  Too bad he's dead, the Union Pacific would consider him prime management material.
