A place here in Aus delivers various items mail-order. By the usual strange quirk of the law, some of the products are legal plants with illegal by-products. Some are legal if they exist here, but would not be legal to import. The rest of the products are just off the radar.

I don't know much about making them grow well. Sounds like they like poor soil and hot weather. Not much to lose since a pair of seedlings only cost about $30.

I forget you're Down Under. Those shrubberies are classified Schedule I stateside. A buddy who lived in Yemen gifted me a spittoon – I think it's called a medfel – for afternoon chew sessions. Anyway I hope you develop a new pasttime and I'm intrigued by how it works out. Please keep us in the loop.

Chewing a few baby leaves doesn't do anything. I've read you need to chew on about 50g of leaf; I measured a bunch of camellia leaves (similar size) and it's a fair lump. Photos of Somalians show them looking like chipmunks when they've got a wad loaded. There's a lot of recent negative press claiming problems - eg in the Somalia and the Nederlands they're claiming it makes the chewers lethargic and disinterested. Hmmm - couldn't be the fact that they either work for the Warlord or die (Somalia) or just can't get a job 'cos they be niggas (Nederlands) that's making them give up on life, spend all their time chewing...

Anyway, I was just hoping for a "better coffee" effect. The legend calls it a Gift from Allah to help the good muslims stay awake all night reading the Koran. It's hard to believe you can read anything if you're feeling wiped out. If it really has a serious downside, I'm past being willing to put up with that. I'm too unfit and busy these days!

Yeah, in Oz.  Torsten has a gardening supply down in Mullumbimby, New South Wales.  He supplies various plants, going back to the Salvia Divinorum controversy that ended with it being legislated against by the Oz feds.

Well, he provides Ayahuasca plants and plant analogues.  A TV station asked to interview them, Torsten accepted and the TV station painted them as raving drug dealers, and in 2 weeks the Feds busted them.  Still in the courts.

This is such a clusterfuck of Rupert Murdoch and an over eager and ignorant constabulary...
